Personal Statement

Ryan Williams, MD, DMD is an Assistant Professor and Chief of Sleep Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine – New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Department of Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He brings a multifaceted approach to the management of complex sleep disorders and oral-maxillofacial conditions. His clinical expertise spans across the fields of otolaryngology and oral-maxillofacial surgery, complemented by a robust background in management of sleep disordered breathing. He is one of a very few select surgeons in the world with this type of comprehensive training. He provides expertise in the surgical treatment of sleep apnea, corrective jaw surgery, and benign pathology. He also provides in-office based dental procedures under IV sedation such as biopsies, wisdom teeth extractions, and dental implants.  

At Weill Cornell Medicine, He is excited to continue pushing the boundaries of sleep surgery and oral-maxillofacial care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions for complex patient challenges. His goal is to improve patient outcomes through both meticulous surgical techniques and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. He also aims to advance patient care in sleep disorders, integrating innovative surgical strategies with evidence-based practices.

Biographical Info

Dr. Williams was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He then completed his Otolaryngology residency at Stanford followed by a fellowship in sleep surgery.

His academic journey continued with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He then completed his training with an additional residency of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
